Making the Ouija Board

How we made the Ouija board.

As already established the Ouija board which I purchased from Ebay was too small for all of the people in my group to gather around. (As there was 5 cast members which all had to be touching the board). And under time pressure we had to quickly think of how to make one from scratch. This is a brief description of how I made the new and bigger board.

This was the Ouija board which I purchased from Ebay for £12.99, this was one of the cheapest boards however we thought that it would be suitable for the film .This board came in very good condition although it was extremely small for a Ouija board and wouldn't be suitable for the film.

This was the board that was delivered. This didn't go to waste as we still used it in some scenes such as the attic scenes when the detail on the board was needed and to ensure that it looked authentic.

As this wasn't the right size we had to  search on Google images to find a board which looked like the one we had already got. However, as ours was custom made we were unable to find an exact replica.

This was the board that we had to use for the film as it is significantly bigger, I realise that it is of as good quality as the original and that is why for scenes which involve detail we used the original board. The board was fine to use in the ending Ouija board scenes as it is set in the dark and does not feature the board a lot. We backed this board onto a piece of wood which I cut to size.

This is both of the board sizes compared:
